How to make your website more search engine friendly

One of the most common SEO mistakes that many web designers make is to embed on page text into graphic images.

The problem with this method is that the search engines cannot read text that is embedded inside a graphic image and this has a negative affects on your websites ranking in Google.

Let me explain; there are two ways to display text on a web page:
1)    embed the text using straight forward html
2)    embed the text into a graphic image so that the image forms a visual background for the text.

So what if the search engines cant read the text on my web pages?

Well its a major problem because each time a potential customer uses a search engine like Google to search for a product example “buffet caterers in London” within, a nano second Google will search and read millions of web pages from thousands of different catering companies. Google is looking for the websites with on page text that best matches the search query “buffet caterers in London” the websites with the best match will then have a higher probability of being displayed on page one of the search results that will be showed to the potential customer.

Think about it if, your website has lots of text talking about providing buffet catering services in London but the text is embedded in pretty graphics then, Google cant read it therefore your catering websites SEO strength is pretty weak and your ranking in Google will be very poor, maybe your website will show up on page five of Google!
